Assassin

Assassins are like the brother of Scouts. Whereas Scouts deal primarily with bows, the Assassins deal with sneaking up on opponents and unleashing damage on them using daggers. One of the coolest features of the Assassin is their ability to dual wield weapons. This is really meant for dual wielding daggers, however you are also able to wield a dagger and a sword, or two swords. If needed, Assassins are also able to yield bows, but will not have good skills for them or be able to do near as much damage as Scouts. Bows can still be used for pulling mobs, however.

The positive to the Assassin is that they are great in PvE. They deal a good amount of damage and can usually take down enemies their level without too many issues. Along with this, the Assassin has the ability to go invisible, allowing them to sneak around where enemies can not see them.

In terms of the negatives to playing as an Assassin, there are not many, but they are pretty detrimental. First of all, there is the lack of real defense. Whereas tanks can defend themselves with physical and magical defense, the Assassin will take a significant amount of damage. Also, they have no real way of healing themselves other than using the Bandage skill.

Strategy

The battle strategy with the Assassin is a fairly easy one to grasp. Your primary goal is to pick a certain target and take them down as fast as possible. As an Assassin, this is easy because you are able to go invisible so that your enemies are unable to see you. This makes choosing the right enemy even more important because you are relied upon.

Now, when you are choosing your weapon, you are going to want to go with dual daggers (and a bow if you wish). The difference between the damage of a single dagger and wielding two of them at once is very noticeable. Your bow is going to be used for pulling mobs, so you are not forced to run into a group of them just to take one (this is especially useful when you are pulling a mob around other aggressives of a different type).

Once you have your weapon chosen, you are ready to go for targets. In PvE you will always be assisting your "main assist" (or tank, whichever) or you will be solo. In solo combat you will just be picking whatever is closest that you are able to kill. It is much easier to kill mobs one or two levels below you (so if you are level 8, go for levels 6-7 primarily) and they still give decent experience. This cuts down on the downtime by a lot, being that you take less damage since you are killing faster.

In PvP your targets are mainly going to be healers. Especially with being able to go invisible, you are a great asset to your team as you are able to actually sneak up on the enemy healers. After this, go for the damage dealers (mages first, then melee) and then the tanks are last.
