Shaman Talents

In World of Warcraft, Shamans are the most dangerous opponent in Arena setting. They are well known for burst damage, Bloodlust ability and they also have the ability to heal.

Shamans are preferred for groups as healers because they have great multi-heal spells and totems to buff other members of the group. But their best ability is reincarnation! Reincarnation can help raids and groups recover very quickly without lengthy corpse runs.

Below is the list of compilation of many players' specs on the official site of World of Warcraft. Most of the them I imported to wowhead.com for faster loading. Please give us comments because it motivates us to share.

Shamans

Shamans have had quite a few changes of their own as well. All totems now have a 5 minute duration while friendly totems have been given a new range of 30 yards. The new Strength of Earth totem takes the place of both Grace of Air and Strength of Earth and totems will affect all raid party member instead of just those in the party (except water totems).
Totems are also considered physical abilities so they are not affected by silencing or interrupts. Additionally, Bloodlust and Heroism have been altered so that the effect is not available again for 5 minutes. Finally, relics are counted as totems now in addition to their regular effects.

Elemental

The Elemental Tree has been altered so that Fire Nova Totem has a 33% base cost and Stoneclaw Totem increases in health at 5% of the Shaman's total health while protecting other totems, absorbing damage. Other changes to this tree include alterations to Elemental Shields, Earth's Grasp and Elemental Devestation with movements of talents and alterations of effects Totem of Wrath will now boost the damage done by spells up to 280 at Rank 4 for all party and raid members within 40 yards. Numerous other totems have also been tweaked or edited to affect larger areas and a more inclusive set of effects.

Enhancement

The Grace of Air Totem, Tranquil Air Totem, and Windwall Totem have all been removed. In addition, the Flametongue Totem now increases spell power by 144 and is not a weapon enchant any longer.

Additionally, Strength of Earth Totem now boosts Agility and Stoneskin Totem will increase your armor granted by 20% at rank 2. WIndfury Totem is no longer a weapon enchant either and now acts as a raid buff offering the same effect to everyone with a 16% melee haste. Finally, Wrath of Air Totem has been altered to provide a 5% boost to spell haste for all raid members.

Additional changes to Enhancement Abilities include the boost of spell damage by Flametongue Weapon, the snare effect from Frostbrand increased to 50% and the mana cost of Ghost Wolf cut back to only 3% of your base mana. Heroism and Bloodlust now affect all nearby raid members and Rockbiter Weapon is only up to Rank 4 now with Windfury Weapon replacing this ability at Level 30.

Restoration

Restoration Specs have had their Mana and Healing Stream Totems altered so that they no longer provide a buff, instead pulsing mana and health to raid and party members. Water Shield has also been edited to grant less mana when the caster is hit.

Other changes here to the talents listed include small edits to Earth Shield, Healing Focus, Tidal Focus, Totemic Focus, Nature's Gaurdian Nature's Blessing and Totemic Mastery.

The following specs are only recommendation. Try it out and see if it fits your playing styles.

PvP: (Best in arena, battlegrounds, and dueling)

  • Restoration/Enhancement (0/17/54) - Going a little bit into enhancement provides instant Ghost Wolf and a bit more healing.
  • Resto - Max Healing (0/16/55) - This spec works best when you pick up decent crit gear. You should not aim lower than 23-25% spell crit in your pvp gear. It suits best for fast and furious games.
  • Elemental (56/15/0) - (1) High survivability with astral shift while being focused. (2) High crit (high mana efficiency) coupled with high consistent DPS Burst. (3) Ghost wolf provides much higher mobility and coupled with TS can be used very effectively.

Pve: (For those who strictly want to level super fast or raiding)

  • Elemental for Leveling (52/19/0) - This build focuses on high damage output and buffing the Shamans main spells and abilities. With all these talents, the Shaman has a total of 13% additional crit chance on all lightning abilities not including gear. With all the crit talents comes some mana regeneration and some more utility with your Flame Shock.
  • Elemental Group/Raiding (54/17/0) - This build focuses on high damage output and more group utility. Shaman are becoming more of a group/raid tool for their Elemental only buffs they give to casters. This spec also grabs Elemental Warding to reduce damage being done to you by raid mobs. On raid bosses, 17% (446 Hit Rating) total hit percentage is needed to never miss with a spell. With Elemental Precision, that drops it to 14% (368 Hit Rating) needed from gear.
  • Restoration for Standard Raid Healing (0/16/55) - This Build offers a 14% increase in crit with all spells, this allows ancestral healing, improved water shield, and ancestral awakening to proc fairly often. Keeping earth shield on the tank and water shield on you are always important, but with this build there is no benefit from improved shields so they have to be up at all times.
